Keeping your Home safer with Mockupancy
Mockupancy is a type of “occupancy simulation.”
Forget setting up appliance timers to make it look like you're home when you're away and let your system do it for you. Control4 can keep track of all lighting, s, ahadesnd video entertainment while you’re at home. When you leave the house and put Control4 in “Away” mode, Control4 will replay those behaviours throughout your automated system (using slightly randomized times). To an outside observer, it will look just like you’re home, watching your favorite shows and turning lights on and off at the expected times, but with variations.
When deactivated, Mockupancy is set to record mode (i.e. getting an idea of when appliances are usually on/off). Then once activated it will playback the latest behaviour of devices throughout the home. There are two ways to activate and deactivate Mockupancy or "Away" mode within your Control4 system:
- If your setup includes an integrated alarm system it will communicate directly with Control4 to control this without you even having to think about it. For example, when the security alarm is armed Mockupancy will automatically be activated.
- Either a keypad and/or scene button in the Control4 app can be set up to trigger Mockupancy.
